Willows & Wood Publishing accepts submissions from literary agents and unagented authors in line with our acquisition criteria. All submissions are assessed on editorial and commercial merit.
Submissions Open
We are currently accepting submissions for adult fiction and selected non-fiction.
Please note: submissions are now open, however all submissions will begin being reviewed from 06 April 2026.
We encourage authors to review the guidelines below carefully before submitting.
What We Publish
We are particularly interested in:
Fiction
- Character-driven adult fantasy with strong voice and emotional depth
- Dark, atmospheric, or genre-blending narratives
- Commercial fiction with clear positioning and audience
Non-Fiction (Selective)
Projects with long-term relevance and strong narrative structure
Lived experience with a clear purpose and audience
Expert-led or specialist insight
What We Do Not Accept
We do not currently accept:
- Children’s fiction (including Young Adult and Middle Grade)
- Poetry
- Screenplays
- Unfinished manuscripts
Submission Process
When submissions open, the submission form will be available on this page from 06 April 2026.
Your manuscript is complete and professionally presented
Initial submissions are reviewed on the basis of the first 3,000 words and a synopsis.
A synopsis (maximum 500 words) is included
Full manuscripts are requested only if the initial submission meets our acquisition criteria.
Your work aligns with our listed genres
Comparable titles are provided where possible
Submissions that do not follow the stated guidelines will not be considered.

All submitters will be required to confirm the following declaration as part of the submission process:
By submitting material to Willows & Wood Publishing, you represent and warrant that:
– You are the author and/or sole rights holder of the submitted work
– The work is original and does not infringe the rights of any third party
– The work has not been generated, in whole or in part, using artificial intelligence tools (other than permitted spelling or grammar assistance)
– The work is not under exclusive contract, option, or licence elsewhere
– Any third-party material has been used lawfully or will be cleared at the author’s expense prior to publication
– Submission does not create any obligation on the part of the Publisher
These representations mirror those required under our standard publishing contracts.
Responses & Timescales
Due to submission volume:
If you have not heard from us within 16 weeks, please assume your submission has not been selected for further consideration.
We are unable to respond to follow-up enquiries unless we have contacted you first.
We are unable to provide individual editorial feedback on declined submissions.
Revised submissions of the same work will not be considered unless explicitly invited.
